Sarah Davies- Agent

Welcome to Inside the Publishing World Wednesdays!
Today a little diddy about Sarah Davies, agent at Greenhouse Literary.
I met Sarah at the SCBWI WWA Spring Conference. She represents children's and young adult fiction, NO picture books. Her clients include, Brehha Yovanoff, Sarwat Chadda, Lindsey Leavitt and Tricia Springstubb. She is also a member of the AAR.

Sarah discovered books when she was around 15 years old, ever since then books are all she's wanted to do. She cut her teeth in commercial fiction while working as a children's publisher in London for 25+ years. In 2007 she co-founded Greenhouse Lit, which has offices in both Washington DC and London.

As its name states, Greenhouse Lit. takes pride in nurturing writers. Sarah says, "it's where writers grow!".

What does she want to see come across her desk? Well, she wants, "uniqueness, craft, quality writing, a great commercial idea. More than anything I look for potential."

Regarding the current market place she has a very positive outlook. In fact, she says, "What have you got? I've got money to spend!".

Her advice to writers- "Do you research and take your time."
