Book Review- City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare

FYI- I am posting my review today because Friday is the first day of Blogfest 2011.

The City of Fallen Angels, Book Four in The Mortal Instrumets series, is a YA fantasy novel, written by Cassandra Clare and published by McElderry Books. It rings in at 424 pages.
The Story- Clary is back and right in the middle of another Shadowhunter problem, one she created herself. Her relationship with Jace is steamy, but only in dreams, and now he seems to be pulling away from her. Added to her boyfriend problems are her best friend problems, with Simon finally telling his mom he's a vampire and getting kicked out of the house. The story grows dark with hints of demon possessions and baby killings. In the end, only Clary's love for Jace can save herself and her friends.

My Thoughts- A really good sequel in the series. The characters feel more human than in previous books and we get to delve into their emotional sides. Creepy though, baby killings are so not my thing. And the ending, holy smokes, I was so mad at the twist. And yes, that is a good thing, I can't wait for the next book.

For Parents- There is violence, possessions and killings. I don't remember any bad language, but there is passion and hints at sex, though it is never followed through on.

Buy it from Amazon now- just click on the Amazon banner at the top of the page.

  6. LOVE this series, and I was actually relieved at the twist. I thought it was going to be so much worse than it ended up being. Loved Simon in this book and Kyle? LOVE HIM. Want to see lots more Kyle in the next two books :)
