Seers- YA Book Review and Giveaway

Seers, by Heather Frost, is a 331 page paranormal romance from Cedar Fort publishing. And guess what? They are offering a free hard copy of the book to one lucky winner! Just fill out the Rafflecopter form at the bottom of the review. If you don’t see it click ‘read more’.

The Story- Kate is a senior in high school. She once had the perfect life, then her parents died in a car crash.
Now, living with her grandparents, she struggles to put her life back together. Her boyfriend Aaron still loves her, but her feelings are all over the place. Plus, what is up with seeing auras? Ever sense the accident Kate can tell people’s emotions by viewing their auras. And crazier than that, she is seeing invisible people.

Then Kate meets Patrick, a boy with only a silver aura and deep blue eyes. She is drawn to him in ways she can’t explain, but he can. He’s her guardian, sent from Heaven to protect her from demons. Kate now begins a duel life of demon hunting and high school partying while all the time fighting her feelings for Patrick. Things might just work out, if the demon king himself wasn’t hunting her.

My Thoughts- I read this book straight through. And if you know me, that means I loved it. The story itself is simple, but unique. Patrick is not an angel, in case you’re sick of fallen angel books. Kate is feisty and enjoyable. Plus, I loved the character of her grandpa. I can’t spoil it, but he’s really cool.

The beginning of the book flows well. The mystery of who Patrick is and what Kate’s powers are keep you turning the pages. Then the story gets more complex adding another subplot. I liked the way the author wrapped up book one. Often with a series you feel cheated at the endings, this book wraps up the original story plot before introducing a new one.

I recommend this book to both kids and adults. It is a fun read with romance,  paranormal mayhem and adventure.

  13. Thanks everyone. This is a great book. Happy to be part of the tour. And yes, I love the cover. In my opinion covers count a lot. I often don't pick up a book if the cover is not eye catching.

  20. This looks different. And I'm excited for the awesome grandpa! It's not often that the gaurdian/parent is actually cool. And I think my parents are cool (well, sometimes) so that bothers me. Thanks for the giveaway!
