Book Review and Giveaway- Prom Dates To Die For

I have a great book full of YA paranormal stories to review today. Prom Dates To Die For, from Buzz Books, is a collection of stories from several authors including, Lena Brown, Heather Dearly, Kelly Parra, Jenny Peterson and Aaron Smith. Want my review copy? Leave a comment with your email telling me either your best or worst prom memory (keep it PG). Contest runs through midnight July 9th.

The Stories- Here’s to a night you will never forget- your prom night! Go to prom with supernatural hunters hired to save a prom date from a soul eating demon. Go on a date with the Grim Reaper, who can not remember who she really is. Get possessed by a dead prom queen seeking revenge, or save your classmates from creatures from another dimension. And lastly, have your birthday on prom night, and experience your family's secret legacy.

My Thoughts- Sometimes I just need a quick easy read to fill in the time, and this book does just that. I liked all the stories. They have just the right touch of fun and paranormal to make things interesting. The two stories I took a shine to, just happened to be the first and last ones, murphy’s law, right? But the one’s in between are worth the read. And really, they are true short stories, with a beginning, middle and end. Something I really needed instead of the longer books I’ve been reading that just end with a to be continued…

A great feel good paranormal read.

  1. Oh! This books sounds awesome!
I only went to my senior prom, and it was kind of awful. The hotel it took place at was under construction, the DJs played a bunch of crappy music (and only TWO slow songs! What the heck?!), and another school was having their prom a few doors down. I kind of wanted to crash THEIR prom because the music sounded better. I didn't have a date either. I went with a group of my similarly dateless friends.

    1. Oh no, who planned it at that hotel? I almost went dateless too, then I called a friend from another school and asked him to take me. lol.

  2. My prom was not fun for me at all. I don't really like loud big parties so it was overwhelming. I did have a nice time dancing to a couple songs with my best friend and my sister. Most of the songs were not my kind of dancing music.

    1. At least you have the memory. Prom is more an event to remember than anything else.

  3. I had my senior prom on May 5th and it was a blast! I use a walker and I wasn't in school as much as everyone else so not many senior knew who I was. I did go with some friends and I didn't take my walker (if I hold onto someone I'm alright). Guys their were really shocked I didn't have a date - and I won a grill at after prom :) The only downfall was two days after prom more then half of the kids that went got sick - including me :/

One of my prom pictures is on my youtube page - brookesbattle (if you wanna see my dress)

    1. Oh no, it's horrible that everyone got sick, but at least it was afterwards.

    1. I wonder who scheduled your prom? That was bad planning on their part.

  7. No prom here either. It just wasn't a big deal at my school. Which I'm rather pleased about.

    1. It was probably a bigger thing in the 80's when I went to school.

  8. I was dating someone who went to another school so I went to his prom. I wore a vintage flapper dress in black with silver vintage jewelry. It was nice because I looked different than the other girls in their pinks and blues and no one knew me! My date and I danced and had a great time! Thanks for this amazing giveaway - I would love to win!

  9. I actually didn't find the prom too terribly exciting. My best friend and I had dates with older guys who didn't attend our school. They weren't our boyfriends, and they left when the partying started. That was ok by us because we had more fun without them!

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  10. I actually don't have a prom memory because I didn't go. Nobody asked me to go, and there was nobody I liked well enough to ask and pay for. I was going to go with a male friend of mine, but his girlfriend was jealous even though neither of us liked each other in that way at all, ever.
