Today's Cover Love is The Glass Spare by Lauren DeStefano.
What intrigued me most about this cover was the image of the kingdom built upon a hill, but with protruding red and topaz crystals emerging from its foundations. What in the world could this book be about? Why are there two colors? I love the black background that causes the the kingdom to appear to be floating in air. It really pops. Then there is the base of the kingdom, which has completely turned into crystal. There also seem to be reflections of different buildings showing through. It begs the question, which came first, the kingdom or the crystal? Is the kingdom carved from the crystal or is the crystal slowly taking over the kingdom? Hmm, I want to know! Unfortunately, I was unable to find out who designed the cover art from just the Amazon page.
