Today I am going to review Shadow Moon, the fourth book in the Unbidden Magic Series. Written by Marilee Brothers and published by Bell Bridge Books, this series is one not to miss. And as an added treat, the author sent me a SIGNED copy of the first book, Moonstone, to start readers out on their journey. To enter the giveaway, fill out the rafflecopter form below. If you don't see it, click 'read more'.
The Story- Allie is back and ready to face the evil trimarks, but before that happens, she is faced with prejudice from a new religious cult in her area. As she secretly tries to figure out the cults nefarious plans, she meets Sammie, a homeless young girl that has been "adopted" by the church. Right away, Allie knows there is more to Sammie than meets the eye.
As Allie tries to live a somewhat normal life, she is also pushed to find her long lost twin sister. Using some sneaky means, Allie tracks her sister down, and Junior, Allie and Allie's mom take off on a road trip. Unfortunately, government agents kidnap Allie and force her to live in a secret compound while they test her powers. Without moonlight to aid her powers, Allie is trapped.
My Thoughts- I love this series. I bought the first book, Moonstone, at a book conference last Spring. I sucked it up and ended up going straight to the publisher to buy the next two in the series. When Shadow Moon came out, I couldn't wait to read it and I wasn't disappointed.
The story is strong, and for those who did not like Allie going to the world of fairy, this book deals with the tried and true trimarks. Once again, Allie is in the hot seat and uses her powers in new and exciting ways to defeat the bad guys.
One thing this book didn't have was the romantic tension that I loved in the first three books. That made me sad. Junior is present, but there is nothing going on. Romance is one of the driving forces in the series, and I hope the author will bring it back in the next book.

I like the teleport idea the best. Being able to move from place to place whenever I wanted would be great.
ReplyDeleteYah I know my answer is not original but Patrice and Carl are right... it would be awesome to teleport everywhere!!
ReplyDeleteIf I had a magic necklace I would go back in time. I lost my dad last September I have so many regrets that I can't make up for now. He got really sick and had to move 80 miles away to go see doctors, and I saw him maybe three times in three years. So I would love to go back and spend time with him.
