Heroes in Training- Zeus and the Thunderbolt of Doom

I have a great, new middle grade book from the authors who brought us The Goddess Girls, Joan Holub and Suzanne Williams. The book is Zeus and the Thunderbolt of Doom, book one in their new Heroes in Training Series.

The Story- Zeus has grown up all by himself, living in a cave, and wondering about the identity of his parents. In fact, he thinks he is mortal. Things change when he is captured by Cronies, soldiers working for King Cronus. In a desperate escape attempt he finds himself at the Temple of Delphi, and pulls a thunderbolt from a stone.

Now, armed with the magic thunderbolt, Zeus follows a clue to find Poseidon, only to end up with evil King Cronus. Can Zeus use his new found thunderbolt to find Poseidon and beat Cronus?

My Thoughts- Another great middle grade story, and this one will appeal to boys too. I found it strange to think of Zeus as a little boy, but that's what makes this book fun. It's a new way to look at Greek mythology. Kids will love the action and adventure, and look forward to future books in the series to see what happens next.
