It is about this girl named Mattie, with a little brother Donnie who
bugs her, and likes to act like a dog. She has a friend named Livvy and goes to
play at her house sometimes. Livvy has an older brother named Nate, and Mattie
and Nate start to date. Mattie is forced to babysit her brother all summer,
causing huge problems for her and her friends.
This book has a good plot and it teaches you about middle school and
what you might go through. It is really fun to read. The brother Donnie acts
like a dog and does everything like a dog, even eating out of a bowl. He even
wakes Mattie up every morning at 5:30 am.
The romance is not too yucky between Mattie and Nate. It is just right.
There is a little bit of kissing. Livvy seems to be grumpy that they are
dating, and wants Mattie to stop dating her brother. It doesn’t help that Nate
is taking Mattie to the dance and Livvy doesn’t have a date.
I recommend this for all girls, like ever.
Thanks for the review, Cami. It's great to know what kids think about books.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cami for the review. This sounds like a good read for a girl in 4th or 5th grade. It's good to get an idea what middle school will be like.
ReplyDeleteHow fun to read a book review from your daughter. Great job Cami! Sounds like a fun book. I know a brother and sister named Livvy and Nate! Nate is the younger brother though. :)
