Heads Up Boston Mass!
Boston Book Festival- Copley Square, Boston, October 24
Nearly 70 Events for Readers and Writers, All Free!
On Saturday, October 24, Boston's historic Copley Square will be transformed into a haven for writers and readers at the seventh annual Boston Book Festival. Featuring fiction keynote presenter Colum McCann (judge of The Writer's short story contest), award-winning authors Kelly Link, Lily Tuck, Jim Shepard, Atul Gawande, Louis Sachar, Libba Bray, Bill Clegg, Rebecca Stead and dozens more, the Boston Book Festival is free and open to the public.
With sponsorship from The Writer, the "Reading Like a Writer" series features sessions devoted to the craft of writing with a variety of authors including Holly LeCraw, Matt Bell and Heidi Pitlor, hosted in part by The Writer editor-in-chief Alicia Anstead. Anstead will also host the popular town hall-style discussion that culminates our annual One City One Story program, featuring the short story "Home Movie" by author Jennifer De Leon (see The Writer interview with De Leon and read the story here). All this plus live music, food trucks and a street fair with more than 75 literary exhibitors. Bring your notebook and your book club, and make a day of it!
